H4:L40 My Favorite Lesson So Far
My favorite lesson was week two. But the best of the seven lessons was lesson one in week two. Swords. I enjoyed the moments of learning about the sword, because I enjoyed learning about ancient warfare. It was what I had always wanted to learn about, to not confuse the hilt, and the handle no more, how they were made, and best of all, to learn about how swords were best used.Let’s start with topic number one. How much it did do to me not to confuse parts of the sword together. It did a lot for me to no longer confuse the pommel and the grip, the fuller, and the edge, and the rain guard, and cross guard. It did so much in the way of my vocabulary about swords, and also helped people understand what I am talking about so much more, so they could answer my questions. Topic number two. How the sword was made. Early swords were made with two main parts, the blade, and the grip. But it had no cross guard to stop your hand if it slipped down. And as a result, people may have accidentally sliced themselves along with their attacker. So the modern sword was born. The modern sword has three main parts. The blade, the grip, and the cross guard. After the cross guard was put onto the sword it became a much easier tool to use. How? Because you didn’t have to worry about slicing your own hand when you used they sword in close combat, so you could focus more on defending yourself. Also, early swords had rounded tips as they were sufficient in piercing the lightweight armor they used to have. The tips were also rounded because the techniques they had were not good enough to make a pointed tip. As techniques advanced, the structure of the sword did too. For example, the cross section of the blade was oval, but sense tools had made a pointed tip, some people, probably thought, “Why don’t we experiment with different shapes in the cross section to see what it does to the sword?” And that’s what they did. In using the diamond shape in the cross section, the sword got stiffer, so it became better for stabbing. But if they used the oval or other shapes they probably saw that using them provided to purposes. Cutting, and stabbing. Then, the different kinds of swords were used. And, the third topic. How swords were best used. I already covered most of this in the last topic, but I’ll tell you again. The sword was best used for stabbing, slicing, and cutting. Sense that’s basically it, I guess my essay is done.
